In the Studio – Post-Harvey Update

Thanks, everyone, for your concern. Hurricane Harvey did have a bullseye on my little town of Rockport, TX, and made landfall as a Category 5 Hurricane. We rode it out, and my damage was minimal, compared to a lot of others around here. Things are on track, but still not quite back to normal.

Power was restored to my home on Saturday, after 15 days…

A boil order is still in effect.

Finally got SOME internet, but it is slower and a bit spotty, so I will try to get back to updates, blog posts and social media, but occasionally it is very slow.

Post Office is still closed. UPS keeps returning things to sender. Grocery store and hardware store are open, but still not fully stocked. I guess a few fast food places have opened this week, but very limited. A lot of rebuilding to do. Our schools were severely damaged, so kids are going to other schools in Texas for at least another 30 days before 80 temporary buildings are in place.

Apologies if I was unable to respond quickly to any emails, etc. I think I’m caught up.

I am going to have to move The IDEA Artistry 30 Day Challenge start date – I am shooting for a Monday, September 25 start date. Weekly videos will be available starting Saturday, September 30th. The 30 Day Challenge is still available as a PICK YOUR PRICE option, so please keep signing up. Any workshop or art sales (or donations) at this point are greatly appreciated. Visit my store here.

Other events:

Global Artisans Online Auction – I’m a featured artist this weekend, so check out the offerings starting Thursday, September 14th. The auction ends Sunday at 6pm EST.

Inside Out – I’m thrilled to have six mixed media collages from my “Splashes of Color” series included in this exhibit at Artspace Uptown Artist Lofts in Michigan City, Indiana. The exhibit runs through October 15th, so if you are in the area (Chicago, Michigan City, and New Buffalo peeps!), I’d love for you to check it out!
