Mixed media collage with hand-painted mat.
The image of items “bursting” out of a heart are what I first thought of when I envisioned this piece. I love texture, too, so the heart itself sits a little higher than the rest of the artwork, giving it depth and making you want to reach out and touch it. I think the watercolor and ink on the white mat really frame the piece, and add a little extra pop of color. Other materials include vintage sheet music, magazine clippings, cardboard, and cut-up business cards and credit cards!
