2018 Look back

As the new year begins, I like to look back at what I was able to accomplish in the previous 12 months. What a wild ride 2018 has been as an artist. Here’s just a glimpse of the art I created and some other accomplishments from 2018.

Here’s a small sample of the over 100 pieces created in the past 12 months:

A few things that I’m really excited about from 2018:

  • Twitter Art Exhibit TAE-18 in Australia!
  • Harvey Lights Artist Project Auction
  • Cutting Edge Show in Houston
  • Awarded Third Place in Mixed Media at Dimension XLVI Show
  • Selected as Merit Artist at Rockport Center for the Arts

2018 also brought some other projects and experiments. I created a 52 week planner featuring full-color images of my artwork, along with a 12 month collage calendar. I taught some workshops and took some workshops online and in person to add new tricks and techniques to my mixed media toolbox. I created two online creative challenges in 2018, which inspired the launch of Quirky Prompts. Four editions of this fun prompt journal are now available on Amazon, with more in the works.

In mid-December I closed my Etsy shop, to re-focus on more profitable income streams. Until I re-vamp my online storefront, if you see something you like, please contact me to see if it’s available. I’m looking forward to offering more classes in 2019 and participating more fully in local art events. I’m currently a member of Rockport Center for the Arts, Port Aransas Art Center, K Space Contemporary, and Art Center of Corpus Christi. Nationally, I am a member of the National Collage Society and Collage Artists of America.
